Moniheli is an organisation and a network of more than 130 multicultural, immigrant and other associations supporting integration in Finland. We support the activity of multicultural associations and promote equality in Finland. We work in the fields of housing, education, health, democracy and digitalisation.
Moniheli turned 10 years old last year. During our operations we have established our place in the association field as a spokesperson for multicultural and immigrant associations. Moniheli’s operation has grown, and we want it to show also in our communication. Join our dynamic team as a communications planner and help bring Moniheli’s communication to the next decade!
Communications planner tasks
As a communications planner you create in cooperation with our team a communication plan suitable for Moniheli’s operational environment, objectives, and resources. In your daily work you coordinate the content production to different channels in English and in Finnish. You’re supporting the Executive Director in Moniheli’s advocacy-related communications. You act as the contact person with the creator of Moniheli’s new website and coordinate the development of the site. You consult and help with communication and campaign work planning in Moniheli’s different projects and activities.

You are the person we are looking for if you are engaged in advancing equality in Finland on a societal level, but also in practice in the everyday life of our work community. You believe in our goals, and you are engaged in developing our organization as a part of our team. You have excellent organizational and interaction skills, are open-minded and flexible. You can listen and include different points of view in planning and are able to take advantage of our team’s expertise about their own work. You understand how Moniheli can best take advantage of today’s communication possibilities for reaching our goals. You are an avid learner, take initiative, are curious and creative, but you know how to prioritize and delegate when needed.
We require
• Excellent Finnish and English skills, with an emphasis on easy or plain language
• Experience in communications in multiple channels, from traditional press releases to social media
• Excellent IT skills. We use Office 365, Teams, Planner, Wordpress, Canva, Publer…
• Experience of teamworking and coordinating communications in a team
• Good visual eye and photo-editing skills
We also appreciate
• Knowledge of Moniheli’s working field and especially STEA-funded work
• Experience in multicultural work environments
• Experience in supervising interns and interest in developing supervision skills
• InDesign, Photoshop and video producing skills
• Existing networks or readiness to create networks with the media and journalists
What Moniheli offers
As Moniheli’s communication planner you get to do meaningful work as a part of a dynamic, diverse and committed team. You get a chance to influence what the communications planner role means in Moniheli. You can work remotely or in our office in Kalasatama, Helsinki. Work is full-time (37,5h/week, flexible working hours) and includes occasional weekend and evening work, and the salary is based on the collective agreement of social organisations. The job starts on January 11th or upon agreement, on a fixed-term contract until 31.8.2022, with the possibility of a permanent position depending on funding decisions.
