Luontokoti
The Luontokoti project, a joint project of Moniheli and the Marttaliitto, integrates immigrants into Finnish nature and home gardens.
Objectives
- The aim of the project is to strengthen immigrants' inclusion and encounters by introducing them to Finnish local nature, natural products and home gardening in nature- and climate-friendly ways, together with Marttaliitto experts and volunteers.
- We will organise activities all over Finland, and our training courses are nationwide and open to everyone. The regions involved in the project are Uusimaa, Southwest Finland, Pirkanmaa, South and North Karelia.
The Luontokoti Project is a three-year, nationwide project (2022-2024) by Moniheli and the Marttaliitto to integrate immigrants into Finnish nature and home gardens. Marttaliitto is a Finnish NGO founded in 1899. The project creates inclusion, broadens the scope of life and strengthens mental, physical and social well-being. In addition, we organise training for multicultural organisations and strengthen models of integration support, especially in Marttaliitto's districts.
We organise courses, training, events and excursions. The aim is to create positive experiences of nature and raise awareness of Finnish nature and its potential for integration. The project supports multicultural and immigrant organisations in developing their activities from a nature and environment perspective and gives them tools to increase the well-being of their members through nature.
We will organise activities all over Finland, and our training courses are nationwide and open to everyone. The regions involved in the project are Uusimaa, Southwest Finland, Pirkanmaa, South and North Karelia.
We cooperate with other multicultural and immigrant associations in the areas mentioned above. If you would like to organise nature activities for your community or discuss opportunities for cooperation, please contact us!
