Training and events
We organise and develop training and events to support digitalisation and digital literacy.
The content of these events is based on the needs of multicultural organisations and those developing digital support.
Training for digital supporters
We strengthen the capacity of multicultural organisations to act as digital supporters through training. It is aimed at actors who want to develop their own support skills or expand their organisation's range of services to provide digital support.
In the past, we have organised three digital support training sessions in English between 2021 and 2023. We will organise the training at least once a year. We will update the 2024 schedule later.
The two-day training usually lasts 10 hours. Topics covered in the training include peer support, good supporters, people's learning styles, information security, ethical guidelines for digital support and a practical guidance exercise.
Contents and the training has been developed in cooperation with DigiOn project (Laurea University and the City of Espoo collaborated project). We use the digital buddy coaching model, developed as part of the Aspa Foundation's Digi haltuun! project's activities.
If you are interested in participating in training or would like to organise training with us, please contact us.

Multicultural Guidance Skills in digital support - Instructions
Digital support brings together people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds and requires multicultural guidance skills. This competence can be verified through the Digital Support Multicultural Guidance Open Badge. The badge can be used to demonstrate your understanding of the importance of language and cultural awareness and integration and how you can promote them as a digital supporter.
The guidelines provide the information needed to complete the Multicultural Steering Skills open badge. The competency has been developed in cooperation with the Finnish Digital Agency.
MoniDigi-mapping
We conducted a survey to assess the state of digital literacy and digital support provided by multicultural organisations in 2021.
The survey was aimed at multicultural organisations targeting foreign-language speakers and immigrants living in Finland, and it was mainly conducted in the form of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was available in Arabic, English, Farsi/Dari, Kurdish, Finnish, Somali and Russian. In addition, qualitative interviews were conducted with some of the respondents.
Our aim was to better understand the needs and development needs of multicultural organisations in order to strengthen their capacities. The results of the mapping are available in Finnish and English.
