As chatbots such as ChatGPT took hold and became more mainstream last year, NGOs have also woken up to the potential of AI. According to our survey in January 2024, using AI has risen to number one on the list of most interesting topics.
We at DigiUp are planning a training this year to guide NGOs in using AI ethically, responsibly and human-centred way.
Website skills on the rise
Not surprisingly, designing, building and updating websites is still in high demand. It's a topic that has been around before, but now it has returned to the top of the list of most popular skills to develop. In the survey, this was the second most interesting topic for respondents.
We are here to continuously provide more skills, insight and tools to help associations overcome this digital challenge. DigiUp has already responded to this need by providing training in English in 2022. In the article below, we have compiled some things to consider to help you understand the steps and development opportunities in designing, building and updating a website.
The last time we looked at the digital skills of associations was in the 2021 Monidigi mapping when we asked them about their level of skills in 21 different digital competence areas. Although we mainly used the same digital skills areas in this year's survey, we added a couple of concrete tools and topics this time. The new topics were Canva and AI, as the need to learn about them has emerged among associations.
We received 46 responses to our survey conducted in January 2024. Respondents chose up to three areas of digital skills they would like to learn for their association work. The chart below clearly shows the most popular topics.
