OmaPolku project is looking for a substitute during project manager’s parental leave – apply by 21 November!

Editors
OmaPolku is looking for someone to substitute for the project manager during the final year of the project during their parental leave.

Moniheli is a Finnish multicultural network which includes over a hundred member organisations. We support immigrant, integration and social inclusion and advance equity.

OmaPolku is Moniheli’s three-year project funded by STEA which aims to advance equity in education for youth with an immigrant background. The key aim of the project is that immigrant youth could better identify secondary education that corresponds their strengths and interests and would receive the support they need to choose their study paths.

The project aims to strengthen the capacities of immigrant parents to support their child and strengthen the culturally sensitive skills of study counsellors to face youth with an immigrant background and their parents in the work. In addition, another goal for the project is to develop the interaction and cooperation between immigrant parents and study counsellors at the time when the young person is planning and choosing their study path after basic school. The activities of the project include peer activities for immigrant parents in their own languages, a pilot training for study counsellors and cooperation forums.
