A new symbol has been developed for digital support! Moniheli's DigiUp project has been closely involved in the development of the new symbol. Check out the new symbols in this article.

A new common symbol for digital support is available. It is designed to communicate the support and guidance offered to citizens in using digital devices and services. The symbol was created in October 2022 as a result of cross-sectoral collaboration and a customer survey. DigiUp-project has been also participating in this process.

In Finland, a lot of digital support is provided in different forms: support for the use of e-services by public authorities, low-threshold guidance by municipalities and organisations, or paid services by the private sector. It is available in public places, at points of sale and, increasingly, remotely and even in the comfort of your own home. The common aim of digital support is to help citizens to cope and participate equally in the digital society and to make use of digital services.

The digital support symbol has been created to clarify what digital support is all about. The symbol will help more people to find their way to digital support. The symbol is freely available to all digital support actors.

Download the digital support symbol

There are six different versions of the digital support symbol in png format. You can download them from the Sininauha Foundation website by clicking on the links below, opening the image and right-clicking on "save image".

The digital support symbol is in full colour and the outline versions in blue, black, white. The links below will open in new tab.

How to use the digital support symbol?

  • logo in a digital support sign, in a presentation or on a website
  • an illustration in a presentation about digital support
  • a symbol on a service map, guide or signage

We also encourage operators to describe their services in the most customer-oriented way possible: what kind of support is available, where and when. Always make it clear whether the service is free of charge or chargeable.

Background

The digital support symbol is the result of a community workshop organised by the DigiOn and VoimaProfi projects in May-October 2022. The symbol was designed with the involvement of digital support customers and operators, whose views were gathered through a survey. The working group includes actors who have been involved in the digital support field for a long time in different positions from the City of Espoo's adult social services and customer services, Kela's customer services unit, Laurea University of Applied Sciences' DigiOn project, Olar Parish, Sininauhaliitto Digiosallisuutta-project and the SeniorSurf activities of the Vanhustyön keskusliitto.

In addition to the digital support symbol, there is already a Digital Support Network-member mark created by the Finnish National Board of Digital and Population Information, which indicates that an organisation provides or develops digital support and is committed to following the ethical guidelines for digital support .
