At the end of August, we moved to Kalliola Setlementtitalo! The move brings new benefits for Moniheli members, encounters – and celebrations!

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's government is preparing a significant reform of social assistance. The draft proposal published by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health (May 16) suggests numerous reductions to social assistance and tightening of its eligibility conditions. According to associations, the proposed changes jeopardize the realization of many fundamental and human rights. At risk are, for example, the rights to an adequate standard of living, housing, and health, as well as the rights of children and persons with disabilities.

The Moniheli Network elected a new Election committee in the spring General Assembly. The committee's task is important, as its members interview and evaluate the applicants to the new Board. They also make a proposal for the composition of the new board. The committee received its worthy election, with four rounds of voting to elect the members. Read more here!

Moniheli’s member organizations reached over 1,700 foreign-language speakers in 15 different locations during the spring’s election info events. The events were organized with Moniheli’s support. Read more about the results of the election project here!

Fifteen years ago today, thirty associations came together to form a cooperation network for multicultural associations. This autumn, we open a new chapter at Kalliola’s Setlementtitalo – our new home, where we will celebrate this journey together.
