The Moniheli Network elected a new Election committee in the spring General Assembly. The committee's task is important, as its members interview and evaluate the applicants to the new Board. They also make a proposal for the composition of the new board. The committee received its worthy election, with four rounds of voting to elect the members. Read more here!

Moniheli has appointed a new Election Committee to oversee and support the association's democratic processes and upcoming board elections. The committee comprises experienced civil society actors with strong backgrounds in multiculturalism, integration, and community leadership.

The appointed members are Emma Tamankag, Jana B. Turk, Aura Tarjanne, Margarita Sakilayan-Latvala, and Joonatan Nsukami. Krishna Bhandari was appointed as a deputy member.

Emma Tamankag is Moniheli's former chairperson and a long-standing community advocate known for her bold yet constructive efforts to advance the well-being and rights of migrant women. She brings extensive experience in intercultural dialogue and grassroots empowerment.

Jana B. Turk is a communications and inclusion expert who has worked on numerous projects aimed at strengthening the participation of people with migrant backgrounds. She has also contributed to NGO governance and strategic development. Jana has been involved in the past with Moniheli in several roles.

Aura Tarjanne brings solid expertise in civic engagement and administrative governance. She has collaborated with multicultural organizations and actively promoted inclusive decision-making processes.

Margarita ”Meg” Sakilayan-Latvala is an active community organizer and professional in grassroots work, with a special focus on women’s rights, education, and supporting integration. Her efforts center on advancing inclusion and participation among minority groups.

Joonatan Nsukami works at the Deaconess Foundation in Helsinki and has significant experience in integration and youth services. He has served on the board of Yhteiset Lapsemme ry and specializes in equality, inclusion, and building safe community spaces. Joonatan won the pitching contest held in the Integration 2024 event with is integration project idea.

Deputy member Krishna Bhandari is one of the founding members of Moniheli and a researcher with a PhD in economics and business administration. He has been active in the Non-Resident Nepali Association and brings deep insight into diversity, nonprofit governance, and integration policies in Finland.
