Networking and cooperation
The LUMO network brings together organisations working with multicultural residents and public-sector representatives.
For whom?
For NGOs and public authorities working with multicultural communities.
Why participate?

The network strengthens dialogue between multilingual communities, associations, and public services.

In what language?

The meetings are held in Finnish and English.

Content

The LUMO network was previously coordinated by Hyte ry. Network coordination has now been transferred to Moniheli ry. We warmly welcome anyone interested to the next LUMO network meeting.

During the meeting, the network will discuss the upcoming meetings' format and content. A more detailed program will be published before the event.

How does the network operate?

The activities of the LUMO network include:
– regular meetings, training sessions, and workshops
– addressing current issues and development needs jointly
– promoting the exchange of information and cooperation between NGOs and public authorities

Schedule

The June meeting will focus on:

  1. The politicisation of STEA funding and its impacts on associations and communitiesTogether, we will also discuss how associations can respond to the belittling of their work, negative comments and a tightening discussion climate.
  2. Enhancing Digital Skills of Migrant Women for Employment: The ToolBok project, funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers from March 2025 to March 2026, aimed to improve the digital skills of migrant women to enhance their employment opportunities and social inclusion across the Nordic and Baltic regions. Through a co-created, multilingual Toolbox, the project empowers trainers, educators, and community members to deliver inclusive and effective digital skills training. The project has produced practical, adaptable training materials that can be used directly or tailored to the needs of different groups.
