This training will give you a clear overview of the role and significance of operational audits within an association. You will learn what an operational audit consists of in practice, what responsibilities are attached to it, and how to ensure that the audit is conducted smoothly and in compliance with the law. You will also receive tips on how to select a suitable operational auditor.

The training covers the core principles of operational audits, the legal background and practical implementation within associations. We will examine the duties of an operational auditor, the scope of the audit, and reporting. In addition, we will address the most common challenges and best practices that support transparent and ethical operations for associations.

Jana Turk
Jana currently works as a Research, Development and Innovation Specialist at DIAK University of Applied Sciences. She has over 10 years of work and volunteer experience in the NGO sector, with a focus on equity and good governance. For the past five years, she has also functioned as an operational auditor (toiminnantarkastaja) for various small associations in Finland. Jana is currently completing her MA in Corporate Governance and Finance at MCI Innsbruck, bridging the gap between practical experience and financial management.
