Tampere Ukrainian Association in Finland (TUYS) was founded in 2020, but due to the corona pandemic the association had no activities in 2020-2021.TUYS started its active activities in early 2022 after Russia launched its unlawful, large-scale invasion of Ukraine 24.2.2022. According to the association's statutes, the ultimate purpose of TUYS is "to unite and represent Ukrainians living permanently in Finland, to cherish the achievements of Ukrainian culture and to spread information about Ukraine".

The association's activities have focused on helping victims of Russia’s unacceptable war of aggression both in Ukraine and in Finland. Its activities have focused on integrating Ukrainian refugees into Finnish society, promoting Ukrainian culture in Tampere and organising humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
