Suomen Somalinaisten Kehitys ry organizes activities mainly for Somali-speaking women in the Vaasa, Turku, and Helsinki areas. Activities include peer support groups, seminars on equality, safety, and Finnish culture, as well as Somali cultural events.
The association also runs integration seminars and low-threshold support and leisure activities, guided by volunteer peer supporters. Participants come from different cultural backgrounds, creating opportunities for networking, peer support, and learning.
Suomen Somalinaisten Kehitys ry actively acts as a bridge in Finland by organizing and participating in various events, gatherings, and training sessions. The association supports the integration of immigrants and promotes inclusion as volunteer experience experts in different projects.
Activities are culturally sensitive and aim to strengthen the well-being of immigrant women, reduce social isolation, and foster community.
