Suomen Somali Media Verkosto ry is a registered, non-profit organisation responsible for running the media platform. Launched in June 2020, its purpose is to provide a credible and reliable source of information for its audience by producing high-quality news and ethically sound reporting to ensure balanced coverage. The network also translates key information and announcements for its Somali-speaking audience.

SSMV is committed to publishing truthful information, respecting individual privacy, culture, and social values. It firmly rejects promoting any form of violence or intolerance and adheres to the Guidelines for Journalists set by Finland’s Council for Mass Media.

In this regard, the network also offers services to interested organisations, providing effective ways to share their press releases and important announcements with Somali communities across Finland.

The network communicates with Finland’s Somali community through its website, social media channels, and WhatsApp, ensuring that essential information reaches its target audience efficiently and effectively.
