Scouting is a hobby that gives you the chance to do almost anything! In Scouting, you learn a range of useful skills in your own regular group. Scouting is about friends, experiences and adventures! Scouting is a global and international activity open to all. You can join regardless of language, culture, religion, age or background.

Scouting is a fun, rewarding and safe leisure activity for children and young people. Scouting gives you new friends and many new skills.

Scouts are in almost every town or city. Scouts meet about once a week, usually on a weekday evening. They meet to do lots of different things and learn new skills that will be useful in life. When you start scouting, for example, you do crafts, go out in the woods and protect nature. You'll also learn how to solve problems, give first aid, light a fire and much more. In addition to the weekly meetings, you and your group will go on excursions to the local area or forest and take part in events organised by the Scouts.

The leaders of the weekly meetings are young and adult Scouts. They run the groups as volunteers, which means they are not paid for their work. All volunteers are trained to lead a group.

Anyone can start a scouting group. Everyone is welcome and participation is not affected by age, gender, sexual orientation, language, cultural background or anything else related to the participant. The Scouts are not affiliated to any religion. However, some Scouts do have some involvement with a local church.

Participation costs around €100 per year. In addition, there may be a separate participation fee for excursions and camps. If the cost is too high for your family, you can apply for a fee waiver.

Scouts spend a lot of time outdoors, so good outdoor clothing is important. Other special equipment you don't need right away. You can start by borrowing camping equipment from other Scouts. Each scout will also get their own scout vest. You will wear your scout scarf around your neck at all scouting events.

Welcome to join the Scouts!
