HEED Finland ry is a non-profit organization established in 2018, focused on improving the health, education, and integration of immigrants and refugees in Finland. Operating mainly in the Helsinki region, with activities in Turku, Tampere, and online, we aim to empower migrants, particularly those from African and Middle Eastern countries, with knowledge and resources to lead healthier lives.
Our three-year STEA-funded project, "Terveys on rikkautta / Health is Wealth" offers free health checks, culturally sensitive health advice, and organizes health-focused events, webinars, and exercise groups. The project seeks to increase awareness of health issues and promote healthy lifestyles among migrants. Additionally, we provide cultural mediation and sensitivity training for healthcare professionals and students. Our work is conducted primarily in Finnish and English.
