We create an inclusive and supportive environment where Filipinos in Finland can connect, support one another, and feel empowered. We promote Filipino culture, organise community activities, and support well-being and participation in Finnish society while embracing diversity.

FilTre’s work is guided by unity, inclusivity, and community. Our goals are to:

• strengthen connections among members, families, and friends
• promote Filipino culture and cultural diversity in Finland
• support the well-being and opportunities of Filipinos living in Finland

History
FilTre traces its roots to Kabayan-Finns Association ry, founded in Tampere in 2000 to connect Filipinos, support integration, and promote Filipino culture. The association later became inactive. In 2024, members of the community revived the organisation. It was officially re-established in July 2024 and later renamed Filipino Association in Tampere ry (FilTre), adopting the phoenix as a symbol of renewal. Since then, FilTre has focused on building an active Filipino community in Tampere and the Pirkanmaa region, supporting social, cultural, and economic participation while strengthening ties with Finnish society.
