BIBAK Suomi Ry was created to meet Finland's growing demand for preserving Igorot and Cordilleran culture. With more and more people moving to Finland for work and family ties, and many starting their families here, our organization aims to educate others about the Igorot culture and pass it on to the next generations of Igorots and Cordillerans born or migrating to Finland at a young age.
Bibak Suomi Ry has been actively involved in numerous cultural activities, including teaching Igorot music and dance to our members and the broader Filipino community. We have also made presentations on various platforms to showcase the unique Igorot and Cordilleran culture and collaborated with other Filipino organizations to better integrate the community in Finland.
Further, besides cultural activities, Bibak Suomi Ry has been involved in projects concerning immigrant nurses, as many of our members work in the healthcare field. These activities focus on improving the psychosocial well-being of immigrant nurses and their families and aiding their integration.
Looking ahead, Bibak Suomi Ry aims to collaborate with other organizations to strengthen cultural identity and promote cultural diversity. We believe that a strong cultural awareness can foster better integration in Finland and understanding each other's cultures can help decrease the challenges immigrants face, such as discrimination and racism.
Additionally, Bibak Suomi Ry will continue to conduct programs for immigrant nurses and aims to collaborate with other stakeholders, not only Filipinos but also other immigrant nurses. We are also looking to initiate further discussions regarding immigrant nurses' challenges. We hope to expand our efforts to include other immigrant workers, especially those in blue-collar industries.
